I hope you’re having a good week. What’s new around here? We’re busy getting ready for a curriculum planning meeting next Monday and Tuesday. What’s the curriculum planning meeting for? We want to develop a program that reduces a pastor’s workload by equipping lay people to do significant ministry in the context of their friendships. The key to such a program is helping people develop the attitudes, beliefs, and skills necessary for biblical friendships (at least that’s our current thinking). Our goal next week is to hammer out an outline for the curriculum. So, if you remember, please pray that we’ll succeed. Anyway that’s what we’re working on. But enough about us ... What’s new with you? If you’re working on any new projects that have you excited, let me know. I’d love to hear about them. Maybe what you’re doing can be the focus of a CareLeader.org story one day. Speaking of which ... Here’s what’s new at CareLeader.org this week Helping seniors deal with end-of-life concerns We recently interviewed Elyse Fitzpatrick, author of Home: How Heaven and the New Earth Satisfy Our Deepest Longing. She shared helpful insights that will equip your lay leaders to minister to seniors. She helps lay leaders understand and address the unique, end-of-life concerns seniors may have. Check out the article here. 7 ways couples can protect their marriages Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Dr. Jim Newheiser shares 7 gospel-centered principles you can share with people in your church to help them protect their marriages. This practical article could be used to jump-start a small group discussion on marital health. And every week visit CareLeader.org to find articles like those and more. For instance, here’s a good one. We’re hiring We’d like to add a video producer to our team! He or she will help us create new video-based curricula (like the project I mentioned at the start of this email). If you know anyone who’d like to use his or her video skills in a ministry setting, please direct that person to this page. Listen, I hope you have a good week. Our team is praying for you. God bless you, ![]() Sam Hodges Managing Editor CareLeader.org P.S., As you can see, we stuck with the all-text format of the newsletter this week. The jury’s still out on the final format. Next week we’ll begin testing a few different text-only versions. So please bear with us. Your feedback is appreciated. P.P.S., Our numbers were up last week with the all-text email. |
