Frequently asked questions
Do I have to purchase this update?
No, the content is essentially the same. The most significant change is the addition of subtitles for the hearing impaired.
Will my DivorceCare workbooks be synchronized with the new DVDs?
Yes, the content itself really didn’t change. The workbook will work with either DVD version.
Why purchase now? Why not just wait until we have a hearing-impaired person show up at our group?
You want to be ready to begin ministering immediately! As you know, it takes a lot of courage for a person to come to his or her first DivorceCare session. If you have the captioned version of the DVDs, you don’t have to keep the person waiting and risk the possibility that he or she will not return or will feel uncomfortable.
How many copies of the new DVD set can I purchase at this price?
Your church is eligible to purchase ONE closed-captioned set at $96 for EACH full DivorceCare kit (new edition DVD version) your church has purchased. For instance, if your church has purchased two new edition DivorceCare kits, you can buy two sets of the 2007 DVD Edition for $96. Additional copies (beyond the two qualifying upgrades) would be our normal price of $200 for a full set of DVDs. Confused? Are the subtitles always on the screen?
No. You only activate this feature when you have a person who needs it participating in your group. The subtitles can be turned on or off using a setting on the main menu, controlled by your DVD player’s remote control. The subtitles use the latest DVD technology and eliminate the ugly black band you often see when closed-captioning is displayed over broadcast stations. The text is clean and attractive, and is positioned so it won’t be distracting or intrusive.
But I really liked the “Cookie Monster” drama. What do I do?
Sorry, you’ll have to use the original disc that came with your kit. Too many people really disliked it!
What do I do with my current DVDs?
Keep them on hand as a backup. If you lose or damage one of the 2007 Edition DVDs, you’ll have a backup you can use at a moment’s notice. Remember, the content is interchangeable.
